Employee Housing
Housing Allocation
Each year Keystone Ski & Snowboard School receives an allocation of beds from Human Resources for staff to live in Employee Housing. It is at the discretion of management as to how the beds will be assigned each season. If you are a full-time new employee you might qualify to live at our employee housing location in Keystone. Beds will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis and depend on the type of position you were offered within the Ski & Snowboard School. Typically less than 8% of our Ski School Staff lives in employee Housing.
Our Keystone Housing is centrally located along US 6, as well as on the resort. It is situated within a mile of Keystone, with free in-resort transportation, and walkable distance to the free summit stage bus stop.
COUNTY HOUSING
If employee housing is not an option, please start your hunt early for housing to secure yourself a place to live in Keystone or elsewhere in Summit County (Frisco, Breckenridge, Silverthorne, Dillon, Blue River).
Finding housing in Summit County can be challenging. There are a number of bulletin boards around town, as well as the local newspaper advertising rooms for rent. Check out http://www.summitdaily.com/ and http://rockies.craigslist.org/ for additional housing opportunities.
There are also a few Facebook groups for those seeking rentals or roommates: Summit/Park County Housing Needed/For Rent, Summit Housing Connection, High Rockies Housing, Keystone Ski School Facebook Page.
It is important to note that most landlords require the first & last month’s rent and a security deposit up front. If you are able to sign a year lease you are in a much better position than someone who can only commit for the winter season.
Short term options (and somewhat cheaper): The Pad Hostel Room.

INSIDER TIPS
Relocating to the mountains may seem like a difficult journey, but it is something that is done by people like you every day. It can actually be very simple if you keep these key things in mind:
BE FINANCIALLY PREPARED
Plan ahead and have extra money for food, travel and housing deposits. Deposits range from $300 for employee housing to much more for first, last and security deposits for non-Vail Resorts owned housing. Remember, your are moving to a resort community. Therefore the cost of living may be higher than expected. Please be prepared to pay more for certain things such as food, gas, clothing, etc..
PLAN YOUR MOVE
If you plan to move here earlier than your start date, please note that you cannot move into employee housing any sooner than a week in advance of when you start. Additionally, we want you to realize that our positions as well as community positions are very seasonal and few jobs are available during the off season. We do not have extra work during our off seasons, which is usually late April into early June and then again in Late September until November. Employees are paid every two weeks and the last day of the pay-period is one week prior to payday. Remember, your first paycheck could take as long as three weeks to a month from your start date. Be prepared and have enough money with you to live comfortably until payday!
HOUSING COSTS
Many different housing options exist within our area, but it is generally accepted that each bedroom of a rental property ranges from $510 on up to well over $1,000 per month depending on location and quality.
